Sick?
Sunday, August 16, 2009 10:30 PM
Yesterday I woke up feeling like shit. The going to fall sick feeling. I felt feverish. My throat was itchy and phlegm just keeps appearing out of nowhere. Attended a stupid time wasting FYP briefing which didnt really say much. They brisked though the research techniques so quickly that we barely even catched anything.
Thankfully it was a scare... I was feeling alright the morning of the run. The phlegm stopped and my throat was feeling good too! Somehow, I managed a timing of 2 hours plus 1 or 2 minutes (i think) for 21.095km. I shall wait for the official timings to be released on the website, probably within this week.
Given the condition of my body, I might not be able to make it for monday's training. my knees are aching and my thighs are cramping up. maybe i'll do my hangs on tuesday.

Week 1 Day 2
Thursday, August 13, 2009 11:13 PM
Sch is already boring. Add FYP and u get absolute hell. Thankfully there is climbing and random pretty girls around sch to brighten up my day.
What I did:
10mins ARC
stretching
15 mins of bouldering
(wore the weight belt with 2 of those metal pieces)
hangs on campus rungs and brain
pinch and crimp system training
frenchies and power pull-ups
body tension exercise
After thoughts:
As I went though the pain of doing hangs on my open hand grip, i realised that the pain that i have been experiencing in my left forearm might not be due to the fact that i am still injured. Rather, it might be that the area is very stiff. Thats why I feel the pull whenever i load my fingers on the open hand position. Hopefully my hypothesis is correct. I shall book an appointment with the physio this week to ask for his opinion.
Whats next:
Training with the weight belt definitely made the exercises a little tougher but its not at a level that i cant handle. I am looking at progressive training. Will probably double the weights for the next training session. hope to increase the pull ups that i do too..

Week 1 Day 1
Tuesday, August 11, 2009 9:36 PM
The start of sch marks the start of my strength and power training phase which i totally left out for a period of almost 1 yr. Though I can never train the way I used to when I was in yr 1 & 2, I think that I can better my level by quite a bit if i stick to it. Wish me luck as I attempt to sweep off the dirt when I take the long and dusty road head on!
What i did:
10 mins of ARC
stretching
about 30 mins of light to medium level bouldering
hangs on campus rungs and fingerboard without weights
pinch and crimps system training
body tension
After thoughts
hanging on the campus rungs was both painful and uncomfortable having avoided them at all costs for quite some time. however i manage to find certain ways of holding the rung which would then enable me to train pain free. my skin was also not used to it. maybe thats why i cannot endure long boulder sessions.
whats next:
adding weights but not going above 10kg. gonna include weighted chin ups as well. or not? hmm...

never expected this trip to be so fun!! did lots of crazy things, including camwhoring for reg, kaixuan and sdd, in their bid to have more photos than the krabi gang (which i am also a part of). was intro-ed to a variety of good and i must say atas food all around KL... given the duration of the trip, we had tried a hell lot... who knows what will happen if we stayed there for a week haha..
and yes everyone is bitching about me being anti-social, by playing psp anytime i get the chance to.. oh well, i aint that much of a chatty person.. and nothing else entertains me like it!! so once again, thank u tammy for loaning me ur psp on 2 occasions! thanks edwin too for providing the games.
everything was well till the last day when i just cant find my phone despite remembering clearly that i carried it to sleep. argh.. oh well.. i guess we were complacent for not locking the door when we were sleeping...
but other than that, i thoroughly enjoyed myself! (:
